1970年代初頭、北欧モダンデザインの黄金期に登場した「Irina（イリナ）」シリーズ。可憐な花模様は、アラビア社を代表するデザイナー エステリ・トムラ によるものです。
転写プリントによる繊細な濃いグレーの線描で花の茎と葉を描き、その上からハンドペイントで赤紫の花びらを彩色しています。機械的ではなく、一筆ごとに職人の手の動きが感じられる、柔らかい表情が魅力です。
底面には「ET-HT」または「ET-AA」という手書きのサインが入ります。
前半の「ET」はデコレーションデザイナー Esteri Tomula のイニシャルを、後半は絵付師（ペインター）の個人サインを示すと考えられています。どちらのマークも、当時の手描き生産によるわずかな個体差を物語ります。
滑らかでやや厚みのある白磁に艶やかな釉薬が施され、手に取ると北欧陶器特有のやさしい温もりが伝わります。
生産期間がわずか2年と短かったため、現在ではフィンランド本国でも出会う機会が少ないシリーズです。
Released in the early 1970s, during the golden age of Nordic modern design, Irina showcases a delicate floral motif created by Esteri Tomula, one of Arabia’s most beloved designers.
Fine dark-grey lines depicting stems and leaves were first applied by transfer printing, then each petal was hand-painted in a deep plum-red hue.
The soft brushstrokes and slight variations in tone reflect the charm of true handcrafted work.
